Festival del Lago:
For 20 years, the beautiful community of Ajijic has been host to one of the most important and prestigious festivals in Mexico: the Northern Lights Music Festival, with artists from around the world coming together for musical inspiration, camaraderie and for course, the natural beauty of the town. The success of the Northern Lights Music Festival has been the inspiration to start an international music academy, Festival del Lago, in this same impressive place.
With its first season being held in 2018, Festival del Lago has quickly risen in international reputation and is now recognized as the most important summer music academy in Mexico with the highest level of performance in all Latin America.
Festival del Lago has assembled a truly first-rate faculty coming from Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Europe. With a very low student-to-teacher ratio of about 6:1, they offer a more immersive and personalized experience for each participant.
Festival del Lago offers a very intense and immersive two weeks of music making and apprenticeship for students from the pre-college level to young professionals. They also provide a wide range of performance opportunities to participants. From masterclasses to intimate in-home venues to larger concert halls, everyone will have the opportunity to perform.
360 XQMX is thrilled to be collaborating with Festival del Lago. For the 2025 summer session, we will be welcoming (18) students (and a very patient chaperone) to the 360 XQMX headquARTers. Located centrally to the Haus der Musik and the CCAR (Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la RIbera) - the main performance venues - the 360 XQMX headquARTers will be fully occupied with world-class musicians.
In addition to enjoying our pool, jacuzzi, luxury accommodations and fabulous views, the students will use our headquARTers to rehearse. That means classical music perfomed by some of the top musicians of their generation will be eminating from every corner of our building. If they do not wish to practice in their suites, they may avail themselves of a variety of nooks and crannies throughout the headquARTers.
A very exciting element to our collaboration will be a series of MASTER CLASSES that will be open to the public. MASTER CLASSES are usually only available to sponsors, donors and accommodations hosts. But, these MASTER CLASSES will be special and will be held at the 360 XQMX headquARTers. It will be an opportunity for the general public to experience the students and the instructors in a one-on-one instruction. We hope you will join us for them. Stay tuned for dates and times.
Ticket sales for the evening performances will go on sale in mid-July. They will be available through the website
