Anthony Delgado
Richmond, CA, USA | Photography | Resident in 2025
Recipient of the 360 Xochi Quetzal Dia de Muertos residency for 2025.
Like many artists Anthony Delgado felt his calling from an early age, eventually earning a BFA and MA in Fine Art in the 70s. However, since jobs for Fine Artists were nowhere to be found he turned his talents to graphic design and illustration, and spent his working life as a graphic designer. Ultimately, he chose a freelance life, creating work for over 20 years for the San Francisco Giants and local business event production companies.
As that part of his life was coming to a close he found photography a new and exciting challenge. In particular, the experience of looking outside himself and entering into a world of people and motion was a welcome change from spending his day in front of a computer.
Presently, he is retired and when not involved in photography, helps his wife of 45 years take
care of their two granddaughters (ages 4 and 6) when they are with us. Their two daughters are
both married and live within a mile. As his last name might indicate, he is Mexican-American. Both sets of grandparents came up from Mexico about 100 years ago, it is thought from a town in Zacatecas.
