Art Exhibition: Stray Birds

“During my time at 360xqmx, I’ve had the opportunity to explore and create imagery using both new and familiar materials and techniques. I'm pleased with the results and the sense of momentum that has begun to build. These works are deeply influenced by my surroundings, as well as by the people—friends, artists, and writers—who inspire me, whether nearby or from afar.

One particular source of inspiration has been the Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore. His 1916 poem ‘Stray Birds’ resonates strongly with my longstanding interest in birds, and it directly connects to the theme of my upcoming group exhibition in Germany. This show features six artists who either live in or have lived in India, creating a rich dialogue across shared experiences and influences.

My work expresses a love for nature and the creatures that inhabit it. Birds, in particular, appear repeatedly, as seen in my recent bodies of work Mist of Khaos and Absence. During my time in Ajijic, I’ve continued this exploration, working with graphite, watercolor, acrylics, and ink —moving between drawings, paintings, and prints—to evoke both the presence and fleeting nature of these creatures and their environments.”
