Catrina Face Painting and Altars & Tapetes in Ixtlahuacan

We will go back to JJ's salon for face painting, breakfast pastries and mimosas. We will then head to Ixtlahuacan. Local artists craft impressive altars in memory of their loved ones who have passed.

They are really beautiful and very moving. There is also a tapete competition. Local artists create stunning carpets in the streets made of colored sand, dyed wood shavings, rice, beans flower petals and feathers. They are intricate and complex. We will return to Ajijic in time for the parade and evening festivities.
