Amy “Taj” Baker is a painter, printmaker, photographer, and mixed-media artist. Her artwork emerges through intuitive exploration, rather than a predetermined image or subject. She creates visual spaces that encourage contemplation, playfulness, and wonder.
Taj’s work is informed by transpersonal approaches to creativity, viewing artmaking as a dialogue between artist and artwork—an unfolding process guided by intuition, experimentation, and openness to the unexpected.
Her visual storytelling is rooted in her work in theater improvisation, and a lifelong passion for filmmaking and storytelling.
Taj earned a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Naropa University, where her artwork was featured in several group exhibitions. Her work has been exhibited in Boulder, Colorado, and Portland, Oregon. In addition to her studio practice, she has facilitated more than eighty playshops integrating creativity, mindfulness, and play, and has presented at national and international conferences.
She currently lives and works in San Antonio Tlayacapan, Mexico.
