Originally from Michigan, Tamara Poff relocated to Tucson, Arizona, in 2018, bringing with her a deep-rooted passion for the visual arts. A graduate in fine arts, Poff balanced decades of dedicated painting with a career in finance, navigating the challenges of the corporate world while single-parenting. These experiences indelibly shaped her perspective, sharpening her artistic voice and fueling her commitment to themes of resilience and equality.
In 2022, Poff returned to painting full-time, driven by a commitment to contemporary narrative works that have been selected for numerous juried exhibitions in galleries and museums in the US and is held in private and public collections, from Massachusetts to California. In 2024, Poff was honored with the Carmody Foundation's "Art for Good" grant and their Second in Show Award, recognition of her unwavering dedication to art’s capacity for social impact. She’s also a seasoned instructor committed to guiding artists in cultivating clarity, confidence, and a distinctive personal visual style.
